How to Apply Neurology Residency Top For specific eligibility requirements, please refer to the GME benefits, requirements and resources page. Our residency program only accepts applications through the AAMC's Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). ERAS collects the required materials and then transmits these documents from your medical school to our residency program. We do not require any materials beyond the ERAS requirements. The University of Florida College of Medicine – Jacksonville department of internal medicine in Jacksonville also participates in the National Residency Matching Program. If you are interested in applying for a PGY-1 in internal medicine and a PGY-2 in neurology, the following required documents must be provided to ERAS: ERAS common application form A personal statement Three current letters of recommendation: One from a neurology physician at your medical school or a neurology physician who has been involved in your education. Two from physicians who are familiar with your work or abilities. Dean's letter (downloaded from your school on Nov. 1) Official medical school transcript USMLE or COMLEX score report Curriculum vitae We are an advanced program and offer joint interviews with our internal medicine residency program. If you are interested in both programs, please make sure to check both programs under the tab "Programs" of the ERAS application. Applicants who MATCH with our program are also guaranteed a PGY-1 position in internal medicine if they elect to conduct their preliminary year on our campus. Please do not mail any documents to us unless we request them from you directly. Deadline The deadline for submitting your completed application is Dec. 31. Interviews Interview invites must be extended from both programs when applying conjointly for internal medicine and neurology programs. Interviews with faculty from both programs will then be scheduled on the same day. On the evening preceding the interview, interviewees are invited to attend a virtual question and answer session with several of our neurology residents. On the day of the interview, all applicants attend a virtual programmatic overview session that is conducted by the neurology program director. During this session, there is also a presentation conducted by a physician from the internal medicine program that is focused on PGY1 training at UF Health Jacksonville. This sessions will be recorded so that applicants who reside in western time zones can view the session at their convenience later in the day. Each applicant will interview with the neurology program director, 1 or 2 other neurology faculty, and a senior resident from the internal medicine program. On interview day, half of the applicants will have their interviews conducted between 9:00 A.M. and noon, and the other half will have their interviews conducted between 1:00 P.M. and 4:00 P.M.
