About Pawan S Puli
Pawan Puli, MD, is an academic neurologist committed to advancing clinical excellence, education and research in cerebrovascular neurology. His primary passion lies in training medical students, neurology residents and fellows — helping them reach their highest potential and shaping the next generation of clinicians who will elevate standards of neurological care. Through mentorship and dedicated teaching, he aims to make a lasting contribution to the neurological community.
Dr. Puli is deeply interested in the evaluation and investigation of uncommon causes of cerebrovascular disease. His research interests includes exploring diagnostic pathways and pushing the boundaries of established treatment parameters — carefully examining how therapies validated in clinical trials can be thoughtfully tailored to individual patients. He prioritizes delivering exceptional patient-centered care and helping individuals understand their disease pathology to reduce the risk of recurrence.
Dr. Puli completed his master’s in neurosciences with a focus on the structural biology of the p53 tumor suppressor gene and its therapeutic implications. He went on to complete his neurology residency at Albany Medical Center, where he served as chief resident in his final year. He then pursued a neurovascular fellowship at Northwell Health, gaining extensive experience evaluating a high volume of patients across inpatient, outpatient and tele-neurology settings while contributing to multiple clinical trials.
Currently a University of Florida assistant professor of neurology at UF Health Jacksonville, Dr. Puli is dedicated to trainee education, clinical research and community outreach, with the goal of improving stroke care and neurological health, both within and beyond the institution.
