About Benjamin T Alwood
Benjamin Alwood, M.D., is a University of Florida assistant professor of vascular neurology at UF Health in Jacksonville. Dr. Alwood earned his B.A. at the University of Florida, and received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine internship and a neurology residency at Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in Richmond, Virginia. He completed training in vascular neurology as an NIH strokenet fellow at the University of California San Diego where he learned to provide effective care remotely via telestroke, and participated in international acute and preventative stroke research trials. Dr. Alwood research aims include stroke quality improvement, telemedicine, advanced intracranial imaging, acute stroke treatment and secondary prevention.
